The Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development mandate is to co-ordinate and facilitate Memorial University’s activities relating to regional policy and development, and advise on building the University’s capacity and identify priority themes and projects relating to teaching, research and outreach. The Harris Centre has two primary goals:
- To assist in the responsible development of the economy and society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- To stimulate informed discussion of important provincial issues.
A key part of Memorial University, the Centre helps diverse groups and individuals connect with the research resources of Memorial, though teaching, research, and outreach initiatives.
The Navigate Entrepreneurship Centre, located at MUN – Grenfell Campus is designed to address the needs of potential entrepreneurs in the pre start-up phase of business development, and connect those individuals with various resources, programs and agencies that exist to meet their needs. Young entrepreneurs commonly contact Navigate at the “idea” stage of their enterprise, well in advance of when they would normally be visible to or aware of the various supportive agencies and programs that exist within government or in the community.
