    The Innovation Summit is part of the Advancing Innovation in Newfoundland and Labrador project led by the Harris Centre at Memorial University. It follows five innovation workshops that were held across the province in May and June. The overall goal of this project is to share and discuss research related to innovation and ways it can be fostered with firms / entrepreneurs, local leaders, all levels of government, industry associations and the university and college. We are interested in answering the following questions:

    • • What are the biggest challenges to realizing innovation-driven economic development in NL?
    • • What are the biggest opportunities?
    • • What strategies by firms, industry associations, all levels of government, regional development organizations, the university and college are needed to enhance innovation-driven economic development in NL?

    This Innovation Summit will include: a presentation on the current state of innovation research and findings from the innovation workshops; a panel response by Dr. Richard Marceau – Vice-President (Research), Memorial University, Mark Ploughman – Assistant Deputy Minister, Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development , Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Business and Community leaders (TBC).
